My name is Jacqueline Defoe, I was born in England of Dominican heritage. My mum was from Petite
Savanne and my Dad from Grand Bay. I’ve been a Foster Carer for more than 20 years. Prior to that I
was an Investment Banker for a Swiss Bank.
I love Dominica and I am eternally grateful to my parents for giving me the privilege to visit the
island so many times to get to know my history and my roots. I want to support those in need and to
inspire students to reach their full potential. I joined DASSSA to make a difference to children in
Dominica.
